Designing the Pen Ryn Estate rooms was with no doubt a turn-of-the-century challenge. I sat in each room and immersed myself with the beautiful river views and landscape that the once notable families took in on a daily basis. There is no doubt we wanted to keep the old-world charm in all of the rooms, however, bring the design to a more modernistic warmth. Designs by Kelline was able to use a Palate of warm taupes on the walls throughout the estate and we added elegant, fashionable wallpaper in certain rooms. Undeniably, we were able to capture the look we were trying to achieve and the transformation is stunning yet simple with elegance. This historical estate will continue to gleam with timeless beauty.
The Estates were completely renovated in 2003 with new paint, flooring and window treatments. After 20 years it was time for a new updated look. The Mansion was easy to work with since we already had the beautiful history with existing architectural features throughout. My job was to add warmth,charm and give a touch of sparkling glamour. I felt that a palate of warm tones of taupes encircling the surroundings would work well replacing the blues, creams and brown walls. Adding a punch of color with furniture, wallpaper, textures and window treatments helped to give the mansion a feeling of blissful elegance.
